Copper, cast glass, bone

I am interested in the interface between the human and natural worlds, how we give the natural world anthropomorphic qualities to explain the seemingly unexplainable and in doing so create a more poetic and exciting world.
Odysseus’s encounter with the sirens is a story about temptation, and disguise.
The siren is an allegory perhaps for conditions at sea, powerful and treacherous conditions that lead to shipwreck.
She is certainly an allegory for human temptation, beautiful but dangerous and compelling, singing her songs to lure sailors to their death on the rocks.
She is her own person.
