Mike Van Dam, Artist & Sculptor

Dutch/Australian Artist and Stainless steel expert Mike Van Dam, born in New Zealand and living in Queensland – creates sculptures made from stainless steel chain. He creates high aesthetic artwork, and was mentioned as one of the most innovative and eminent contemporary realist and hyper-realist international artists by ‘Mykonos, Greece, Rarity Gallery’.

The material, the chain he uses for his Sculptures is 4mm and 6mm 316 marine grade stainless steel. Once the links are welded together the structure becomes strong and durable, ideal for the coastal, commercial, public environment and luxury homes, hotels and yachts.

Regarding ‘Earth’s Custodian’ he says…

The form showcases the beauty and fragility of our planet through a thought-provoking piece that highlights the importance of environmental protection. The globe symbolizes the rich diversity of species and the interconnection of all life on Earth. The kneeling figure represents the tireless guardians of our planet, standing strong in the face of challenges and reminding us of our responsibility to preserve the natural world for future generations. The artwork inspires a sense of awe for the delicate balance of life and a call to action for positive change. It showcases the vital role we play as protectors of the earth and the importance of working together to ensure its preservation for years to come.
