‘when following the soft spiraling lines of remains of a beautiful world one seems to arrive at a disjuncture at the very center of its meaning. where something of significance appears to have been lost or worn away with the passage of time was this where two organisms sharing the same shell came together? in Kafka’s unfinished story the burrow, the central chamber of the burrow exerts a strange gravitational pull on the burrowing creature. likewise, we are drawn to the mystery at the center of the spiral.’
