Every work on our site is available to Queensland buyers, with the same artists, the same certificate of authenticity and the same delivery and installation support we provide in Sydney. Choosing Sculpture for Queensland Conditions
Coastal Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast: salt air and humidity are the main considerations. Choose bronze garden statues or 316 (marine) grade outdoor stainless steel sculpture, rinsed with fresh water every few months.
Corten in Queensland: corten needs to dry out between wet spells to form its protective layer. It performs well inland, in the Scenic Rim, Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, but it is not our first recommendation for beachfront or constantly humid sites.
Summer storms and wind: taller works are fixed to an engineered concrete footing so they stay secure in Queensland’s storm season. We specify this as part of installation.
Public Art on the Gold Coast: The Kirra Sea Eagle
ARTpark managed the reproduction of the Kirra Sea Eagle, the Gold Coast’s best-known public sculpture, with artist Tobias Bennett, from artist selection through fabrication to reinstallation on Kirra Hill. Queensland-based Michael Van Dam creates sculpture from marine-grade stainless steel chain, including marlin, dolphins and sea creatures, so it is naturally at home in coastal Queensland gardens. Delivery and Installation in Brisbane and Queensland
Freight is quoted by size, weight and destination. Tabletop works travel by courier. Garden works of 1 to 2 metres are crated and sent by road freight. Works over 2 metres travel by dedicated transport and are placed by crane or hiab, usually on an engineered footing prepared before arrival. What is the best sculpture material for coastal Queensland?
Bronze and 316-grade stainless steel perform best in salt air and humidity. Corten is better suited to inland Queensland, away from constant sea spray.
How much does delivery to Queensland cost?
Freight and installation are quoted per work and per address, based on size, weight and site access. Send us the work you’re considering and your address for an estimate and timeline.
Can I see how a sculpture will look before I buy?
Yes. Send us photos of your garden and we’ll prepare mock-ups showing the sculpture in place, at the correct scale.
